Phillies Return Home Today

March 28, 2011

After a long month and a half in Clearwater, the Phillies will return to Philadelphia today after their game with the Houston Astros.

It will be refreshing to know that our Phillies are back in town, and ready to start the 2011 season. Last time the Phillies were returning to Philadelphia, this happened:

Oh, the memories.

In other news, Todd Zolecki thinks that Jose Contreras will be the closer. He also says that Mike Martinez has all but locked up a roster spot, based on Charlie Manuels comments on him. As for the last bench spot, he thinks it is between Luis Castillo, and one of Pete Orr or Delwyn Young.

I personally am still somewhat cautious about Castillo, though I’m not against him getting a spot. He is probably more valuable than Young and Orr, as long as he is signs a cheap contract.

MyPHL was at the Phillies 5k on Saturday, see pictures here.

Friday can’t get here soon enough.

Signing out,

The Citizens Bankers
